Cobie Durant Outlines His Plans To Support Cowboys' Super Bowl Target This Season

Dallas Cowboys cornerback Cobie Durant has a very simple and hard-hitting plan that can fuel a deep playoff run: create more turnovers and get the ball back into the hands of quarterback Dak Prescott.

“The Landshark,” as he is nicknamed the former Los Angeles Rams playmaker signed with the Dallas to mend a secondary that has fought an early season injuries and consistency issues.

As the Cowboys are gearing up for a high-stakes divisional competition against the Philadelphia Eagles, Durant is trending toward a timely return from a hamstring injury—bringing his trademark speed, slot-to-perimeter versatility, and ball-hawking swagger to Texas.

"A blessing for sure," Durant expressed. "Injuries happen, things happen, man, but you've just got to stack those days that you're missing and do your part. And then be ready when your name is called when you get back out there.”

Durant had been kept in the limited list on the practice report on Thursday. He also decided to add that detail when he was speaking to the reporters in the locker room. He and his team are being very precautious because hamstring injuries can be unpredictable.

What was Durant’s verdict on this?

"I'm feeling great, man," Durant expressed. "I'm a little limited right now, so I'm just taking it one day at a time and staying on top of this hamstring thing because it's tricky. I'm just being available. That's the best thing about this business; the best ability is availability."

Durant is unfortunately limited, but he has said that there is no physical problems that he feels during practice.

"I can do anything, honestly," Durant said. "Really nothing. I'm just being smart about it.”

Hamstring injuries have been a common occurrence for the Cowboys players, especially earlier this season. On the injury report, there were also four more players who were listed in the injury aspect dealing with injuries, that included Durant and LB DeMarvion Overshawn, who is expected to return on Monday along with Durant.

The coach of Cowboys Brian Schottenheimer was very concerned and said that he is looking at the root cause. "We're looking at it," Schottenheimer said. "It's unfortunate, but we're doing a deep dive into it to see if we can come up with anything. Right now, nothing that we've uncovered is saying, 'Hey, it's definitely been this.'”

But one silver lining is that Durant is already lining up to play on Monday night, which can help give defensive coordinator Christian Parker more options in his defensive back rotation.
