NFL london: 10 key moments as the indianapolis colts defeat the Washington commanders in the UK
The Indianapolis Colts turned a tight contest into a comfortable win after the Washington Commanders controlled much of the opening half. Several big plays, penalties and crucial fourth-down moments eventually helped Indianapolis pull away in London.
Here are 10 key moments that shaped the Indianapolis Colts’ 30-13 win over the Washington Commanders.
1. Washington's Early Dominance
The Washington Commanders’ defense set the tone during the opening half, making life difficult for the Indianapolis Colts’ offense. Washington held Indianapolis scoreless for much of the first half and took a 6-0 lead before the Colts finally found their rhythm.

According to SkySports, that early defensive resistance kept the game competitive despite Indianapolis eventually pulling away after halftime.
2. Shrader's Clutch Kicks
The Indianapolis Colts finally broke through when Colts kicker Spencer Shrader converted a 48-yard field goal to close the first half.
The kick cut the Washington Commanders’ advantage and gave Indianapolis some much-needed momentum heading into the break.
3. Shrader adds another long field goal
Shrader remained reliable after halftime, drilling a 52-yard field goal after the Colts’ drive stalled at the Washington 34-yard line.
The kick extended Indianapolis’ lead to 20-13 and gave the Colts a seven-point advantage heading into the later stages of the third quarter.
4. Jonathan Taylor breaks through
Colts running back Jonathan Taylor became one of the biggest difference-makers for Indianapolis as the Colts’ offense started to find space.
The running back produced back-to-back 12-yard gains on the drive that eventually resulted in another Indianapolis touchdown. His rushing production helped the Colts maintain control as Washington’s defense began to tire.
5. Daniel Jones finishes the drive with a touchdown
Colts quarterback Daniel Jones gave the Indianapolis Colts another major boost when he kept the ball near the goal line and stretched for a four-yard touchdown.
The quarterback keeper caught the Washington Commanders’ defense off guard, pushing Indianapolis two scores ahead at 27-13.
6. Washington loses an 87-yard touchdown
The Washington Commanders appeared to have produced one of the biggest plays of the game when Commanders running back Antonio Williams broke a tackle and raced 87 yards for a touchdown.
However, the excitement quickly disappeared as multiple offensive penalties wiped out the spectacular score. Instead of narrowing the deficit, Washington had to continue its drive without the huge gain.
7. Kaliakmanis finds Dyami Brown for 48 yards
Quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis continued to show his willingness to attack downfield despite being the Washington Commanders’ third-string quarterback to start the season.
After beginning the drive at Washington’s own 16-yard line, the rookie connected with wide receiver Dyami Brown for a 48-yard completion down the right sideline. The play moved Washington past midfield and gave the offense another chance to respond.
8. Kaliakmanis is sacked at a crucial moment
Washington’s promising drive eventually stalled when Kaliakmanis was sacked on third and nine from the Indianapolis 35-yard line.
The 10-yard loss pushed the Commanders out of field-goal range and forced them to punt. It was a costly play at a time when Washington needed points to stay within reach.
9. Indianapolis stretches the lead again
With the Washington Commanders still searching for a way back into the game, Shrader delivered another important kick.
His 44-yard field goal gave the Indianapolis Colts a 30-13 lead with less than six minutes remaining. At that point, the visitors had created enough separation to put the result largely beyond Washington’s reach.
10. Washington turns the ball over on downs
The Washington Commanders’ final attempts to extend the game ended with a turnover on downs.
Facing fourth and 14 from the Indianapolis 36-yard line, Kaliakmanis’ pass fell incomplete. Indianapolis took possession and was able to close out its 30-13 victory in London.
With that, the Indianapolis Colts wrapped up a 30-13 win over the Washington Commanders, with key moments from Jonathan Taylor, Daniel Jones and Spencer Shrader helping seal the result in London.
