Titans CEO Outlines How Robert Saleh Can Save Their Super Bowl Aspirations
The Tennessee Titans are in a tight spot, and staring down a dangerous 0-5 start to the 2026 season that has fans sounding the alarm. But despite the early-season disaster and a sloppy offense, the front office does not want to hit the panic button.
In a recent address, Titans CEO Burke Nihill expressed a public apology to the Music City faithful while also speaking about a staunch vote of confidence for first-year head coach Robert Saleh. Nihill firmly believes the "train is on the tracks" and outlined exactly how Saleh can right the ship, rescue sophomore quarterback Cam Ward, and eventually salvage the franchise's long-term Super Bowl ambitions.
He spoke to ESPN's Turron Davenport on Friday with clearance to do so on behalf of Titans controlling owner Amy Adams Strunk. And CEO Burke Nihill gave his complete support behind general manager Mike Borgonzi and head coach Robert Saleh. "I personally feel a sense of stability," Nihill said.
"I believe that Mike Borgonzi and Robert Saleh are ultimately going to get this team out of the woods and restore it to competitive football. The train is on the tracks. It just hasn't picked up momentum, but it will.”
He further noted, "I can confidently say this organization is in a place where there is organizational belief in Mike, in Robert, and they absolutely have all the support they need to get this train moving and moving faster.”
What's happening with the Titans
Nihill was so humble that he even apologised to the fans. "The first thing I would say back to the fans is just that we're sorry," Nihill said. "There's nobody in this building that doesn't feel a sense of grief about it, because not only are we fans of the team as well, but we feel the sense of responsibility to deliver. And we've let our fans down because football is supposed to be fun.”
The franchise is coming off two consecutive 3-14 seasons. Currently, the latest loss dropped the Titans to fourth place in the AFC South with a 0-5 record. However, even when the others are doubting the coaches, Nihill is confident in their abilities.
Tennessee will now have to concentrate and turn its attention to its latest matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, and hope to end its losing streak and finally give its frustrated fan base something to celebrate.
