Tom Brady Explains Why NFL Trades Are More Challenging Than Other Sports Leagues

Trading a player in the NFL is way harder than doing it in baseball or any other sport because football is very tactical and relies on complex playbooks.

Tom Brady decided to explain and said that every team uses its own distinctive offensive and defensive verbal cues which is essentially a unique football language. Dropping a player into a midseason roster is not a simple swap; they have to rapidly absorb huge amounts of clues and scheme information. This is just to be on the field and play with confidence.

While the NBA or MLB allows a newcomer to rely purely on raw individual talent, the NFL demands synchronized mental execution.

Tom Brady decided to explain it to Tony from Boulder on Fox Sports. He said, “It's all very difficult. It's much harder than you think. It's a lot different than, let's say, a baseball trading deadline and a basketball trading deadline. Football is so tactical. And there is verbiage, basically a language that every team uses. Whether it's offense or defence. So just to simply take one player out and another player is never that easy. That new player coming in has to get as much information up to speed as fast as possible so that they can go out there and play freely.”

Brady was also very brazen when it came to asking for changes in the NFL. He proposed a lot of things, so let's see what he said.

Tom Brady advised on significant changes in the NFL.

There were two major 5-2 teams- Denver Broncos and Chicago Bears- included in Brady's rankings, but there was no room for the Browns. His inability to figure out the AFC North has led Brady to say that there needs to be a change in the division.

"I spent an hour. Yeah, an hour. Trying to figure out the AFC North, and I can't do it. All right, they're probably 11 through 14 in my rankings, and they all have probably an argument to be at number 7 at any given time. Here's what I propose: let's put the AFC North in an 18-week round robin every single year, and the winner of it slots into the division round. You guys are cool with that?" said Brady.

He did say it jokingly, but seeing these teams play each other every week would not be so much fun. This is because of the competitiveness seen throughout the opening weeks of the season. The Browns really shocked this season and sparked the division to life.
