2026 NFL Power Rankings Week 4: Cowboys keep dropping as Bills and 49ers rise
Three weeks into the 2026 NFL season, the top of the league has a new look. The San Francisco 49ers jumped six spots to No. 1, while the Seattle Seahawks, last week's top team, slid to No. 4 after a loss to Washington.
Others moved even more. The 3-0 Las Vegas Raiders climbed 12 spots into the top 10, and the 3-0 Minnesota Vikings joined them there for the first time this season. At the other end, the Patriots and Texans each dropped 13 spots, to No. 31 and No. 24.
Injuries and roster moves are reshaping the picture too, from Baker Mayfield's thumb injury in Tampa Bay to the Giants' Monday trade for J.J. McCarthy. Three games is still a small sample, so expect plenty more shuffling.
With that in mind, here's how the 32 teams stack up, ranked No. 32 to No. 1 heading into Week 4, according to Nick Shook of NFL.com, the league's official website.

32. Tennessee Titans (0-3)
The offense bogged down in the rain for the second week running. Cam Ward's late end-zone interception sealed the loss to the Giants and extended a rocky start to his second season.
31. New England Patriots (1-2)
Apart from a defense-driven win in Week 2, New England has looked disjointed. Drake Maye seems lost at quarterback, and Mike Vrabel admitted he's deeply worried.
30. Miami Dolphins (0-3)
Miami moves the ball well enough in the middle of the field but keeps stalling before the end zone. The roster is the thinnest in the league, though effort isn't the problem.
29. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-3)
Protection problems and a directionless offense have Tampa Bay winless. Baker Mayfield's thumb injury will sideline him for at least three weeks.
28. Green Bay Packers (1-2)
The 21-point loss to Atlanta exposed a nonexistent ground game, missed tackles, and heavy pressure on Jordan Love. Matt LaFleur himself called it humbling.
27. Los Angeles Chargers (0-3)
They played a tidy first half in Buffalo and forced three turnovers, but turned them into only 10 points. Then they gave the game away after halftime.
26. Arizona Cardinals (1-2)
Arizona kept fighting against San Francisco when a lesser team might have folded. The defense, though, surrendered a long list of big plays.
25. New York Giants (2-1)
Another ugly win fits what John Harbaugh's team is built to do. The Monday trade for J.J. McCarthy adds uncertainty about how quickly he sees the field.
24. Houston Texans (0-3)
Houston can't run the ball, lacks game-breakers at receiver, and struggles to sustain drives. After scoring six points in Week 2, it was nearly as poor in Indianapolis, apart from one late drive.
23. Atlanta Falcons (1-2)
The trip to Green Bay turned into a rout, with Bijan Robinson the focal point in Michael Penix Jr.'s first game back. It's a result that could keep their season alive.
22. Carolina Panthers (1-2)
The offense went quiet in Cleveland after Jalen Coker was hurt, and a banged-up Bryce Young struggled. The defense wore down without Devin Lloyd. Their bye week is coming, but first comes a Sunday night game against Detroit.
21. Washington Commanders (1-2)
Backup Marcus Mariota delivered the week's biggest upset over Seattle and sealed it with a late scramble for a first down. The defense added three takeaways.
20. Indianapolis Colts (1-2)
They beat Houston despite three Daniel Jones turnovers, as a defense that had ranked among the league's worst held the Texans mostly in check. Kicker Spencer Shrader is 8-for-8 on field goals, including three from 50-plus.
19. Pittsburgh Steelers (2-1)
The offense finally attacked downfield the way the team has wanted to, and the defense closed out the win. One good game won't convince anyone, though.
18. New York Jets (1-2)
They lost in Detroit and gave up 31, but erased a two-touchdown deficit in the fourth quarter to stay in it. After the Week 2 disaster at MetLife, that counts as progress.
17. Cleveland Browns (2-1)
The defense, with Mason Graham, Jared Verse and Carson Schwesinger, has been among the league's best over the last two weeks. Deshaun Watson has also rediscovered some late-game poise, though the offense needs work.
16. New Orleans Saints (1-2)
After pulling out their first two games late, the Saints unraveled in the fourth quarter against Las Vegas. Tyler Shough's late-game magic disappeared in a wild loss.
15. Philadelphia Eagles (2-1)
Philadelphia was thoroughly outplayed on Monday night. Jalen Hurts was inconsistent, an end-zone interception wrecked a promising drive, and Case Keenum's offense piled up 375 yards. Sean Mannion's offensive changes haven't taken hold yet.
14. Detroit Lions (2-1)
Jahmyr Gibbs and the offense can score in bunches and keep Detroit in any game. Fourth-quarter defense is the worry, even though a takeaway spared them another overtime.
13. Los Angeles Rams (1-2)
The Rams have been up and down: a flat loss to the 49ers in Australia, a dominant win over the Giants, then a blown 16-0 halftime lead against Denver. It's better to get these lapses out of the way early, but it isn't the start anyone expected.
12. Chicago Bears (2-1)
Case Keenum, 38, shredded the Eagles on Monday night, and the defense forced three turnovers in a 20-point win. It means a lot for a team that had reason to feel sorry for itself.
11. Dallas Cowboys (1-2)
Dallas rose a spot despite losing to Baltimore on a last-second field goal. Dak Prescott is playing at an elite level and the defense produced a goal-line stand. Shook, though, faulted Brian Schottenheimer's cautious end-game choices, and a deep pass set up the winning kick.
10. Las Vegas Raiders (3-0)
The Raiders rose 12 spots on the strength of a 3-0 start. Klint Kubiak has the franchise energized, with Kirk Cousins and Brock Bowers joined by little-known contributors such as fifth-round rookie Hezekiah Masses, who already has three interceptions.
9. Minnesota Vikings (3-0)
Quarterback Kyler Murray remains a question mark, but a standout defense is the reason for a 3-0 start and a first top-10 spot this season.
8. Cincinnati Bengals (2-1)
Cincinnati's much-hyped defense lost some luster when Aaron Rodgers and Pittsburgh, previously the league's second-worst scoring offense, put up 30 points in a one-score win. A matchup with Jacksonville should reveal more.
7. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-1)
Jacksonville bounced back by handling the Patriots comfortably, and Travis Hunter picked off his first career pass.
6. Denver Broncos (2-1)
Denver hasn't put together a full game yet, but its defense tends to hold on until the offense wakes up. The playmakers make this a stronger group than last year's.
5. Baltimore Ravens (2-1)
Baltimore edged out a win in Rio by being slightly sharper than its opponent. The red zone remains a problem, but the passing game reopened with Zay Flowers back.
4. Seattle Seahawks (2-1)
Sam Darnold's return opened with a Jaxon Smith-Njigba touchdown and fell apart with two interceptions, one a fourth-quarter pick-six. Rookie running back Jadarian Price's early fumble and benching didn't help in the loss to Washington.
3. Buffalo Bills (3-0)
Buffalo made plenty of mistakes against the Chargers and still won, which speaks to its ability to find a way. Those issues need fixing before it faces top opponents.
2. Kansas City Chiefs (3-0)
Kansas City handled a short-handed Dolphins team without extending itself. Cutting Kenneth Walker III's touches was a smart choice with a long season ahead.
1. San Francisco 49ers (3-0)
The offense is cruising, and Brock Purdy's MVP talk looks legitimate. The caveats are an easier recent schedule and a growing injury list that tougher opponents could expose.
